OUTERWEAR CARE

Each outerwear item is made up of a different blend of materials. A care tag will explain how to best care for the jacket or coat specified. In addition to the care tag instructions, there are tips for each type of material that can add years to the coat’s average lifespan.

Leather Jackets
- A professional grade weather protectant that is made specifically for leather clothing items can be used to protect leather from rain and other moisture heavy weather. This will keep the leather from fading and cracking in dry conditions as well.

Dry Clean Coats
- If your jacket or coat is made out of materials that require dry cleaning, you will want to avoid conditions that may get your outerwear dirty. If you notice that your coat is not fresh smelling, you can put it in the dryer with a fresh smelling dryer sheet in a no heat cycle. This will not clean dirt off of the material, but will have your coat smelling like new.

Bubble Jackets
-Bubble jackets are often made with down or fabrics that mimic down. These materials are difficult to launder, as they will often stay wet for long periods of time. Bubble jackets should be taken to a professional cleaner to be laundered regardless of the instructions on the care tag. Keep this in mind when purchasing a bubble jacket and opt for colors that do not show dirt easily such as white or pale blue.
