Selecting
the right size is for all fashions. The better the boot fits, the
better the boots look. A pair of boots that fits poorly can cause
permanent damage to feet and can contribute to slipping and injuries
in snowy and icy conditions. To get the correct size, you can measure
your foot.
How
to Measure Your FootTape
a piece of paper that is longer than your foot to the floor
Use
a measuring tape to measure your foot on the paper
Mark
the length of your foot on the paper
Use
the inches measured to figure out your shoe size
Find
inches to shoe conversions online or at shoe departments. Keep in
mind that each manufacturer may differ slightly in size. But, your
size will usually not change within one manufacturer.
If
you find that your feet differ in size, you are not alone. You can
use inserts, found at local grocery stores or online to add to the
sole of shoes that are too large. You can also wear socks of
different thicknesses in each shoe to even out the size.
